A type of essential oil that is extracted from the leaves and stems of certain species of lemongrass plants, the Cymbopogon genus. Citronella oil is native to Asia, specifically Sri Lanka, but is now widely cultivated in other parts of the world, including Africa, South America, and the Caribbean.  In Ayurvedic medicine, citronella oil is known as "Bhutrika" and is used for its cooling and anti-inflammatory properties. It is believed to treat respiratory problems, fevers, and headaches, and is also used as an insect repellent. It helps in cleansing the skin, removing excess oil secretion, tightening the pores, while moisturizing the skin and leaving it soft and supple.
