Coconut Chutney

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh coconut, grated
  • 1 green chilli, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons roasted gram (chana) dhal
  • salt to taste

For the Tempering

  • ½ teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 red chilli, chopped
  • ½ teaspoon urad dhal
  • 2-3 curry leaves
  • 1 teaspoon oil
Methods
  1. Grind the coconut, green chilli, gram dhal
    and salt in a blender with a little water into
    a fine paste. Keep aside.
  2. Prepare the tempering. Heat the oil. Add the
    mustard seeds, urad dhal, chilli and curry
    leaves. When the mustard seeds crackle,
    remove from the heat and pour over the
    chutney.
  3. Mix well.
