Vermicelli Payasam

Payasam is the most common dessert. It is a simple preparation of vermicelli and milk. This
stovetop pudding is fairly easy and quick to prepare. It is tender, creamy and sweet.

Ingredients

  • ½ litre milk
  • 100g vermicelli
  • 100g condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoon cashew nuts
  • 2 tablespoons raisins
  • 2 tablespoons ghee
Methods
  1. Heat a little ghee in a frying pan.
  2. Fry the cashew nuts and raisins in a little ghee, keep aside.
  3. Fry the vermicelli in the remaining ghee until slightly brown.
  4. Boil and add milk to the above. Allow the vermicelli to cook in the milk. Add condensed milk.
  5. Allow to cook for 5 minutes until the dish has a thick consistency. Mix in cashew nuts and
    raisins.
  6. Vermicelli payasam is ready to be served.
